This wonderful hand painted chess set, sculpted by Peter Calvesbert and brought to you by Mascott Gallery.
Although no particular characters are represented we have used St. Andrews as the Castle/Rook for the old side and Turnbury Lighthouse for the new. The pawns are represented by old and new golf bags. The remaining characters can be distinguished by their forms of dress, the old side in their plus-fours and tweeds and the new with bright colours and baseball hats.
